With the ever-increasing need to transmit high-bandwidth resolutions over long distances, comes the need for completely new cable solutions. Fiber optic HDMI cable is a perfect solution when UHD video signals need to travel far.
Active optical cables with Silicon Line technology do not require an external power source to convert electrical signals and transmit them as optical signals and offer many advantages over conventional copper connections. They are much lighter and more flexible than copper for high bandwidth applications, have a longer transmission distance and are not susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI).
The fiber optic cable has the same standard HDMI connectors and this means that you can connect it to your TV and PC or other devices like a standard HDMI cable. In order to meet certain specifications such as EDID and HDCP, the cable is a hybrid of OM3 Multimode 4-conductor fiber and 7-core copper cable.
